As of Dec. 17, SOCAR is delivering 4.5 million cubic meters of gas per day to Georgia compared to five million cubic meters, as of Nov. 30, a source at SOCAR told Trend on Monday.

"The gas supply to Georgia has slightly reduced and currently amounts to 4.5 million cubic meters per day," the source stated.

SOCAR supplies gas to Georgia through the pipeline connecting two countries in the Gazakh region of Azerbaijan. The transportation capacity through this pipeline amounts to three billion cubic meters per year.

The company manages gas distribution networks covering various regions of Georgia through SOCAR Georgia Gas.

According to the source, gas is being supplied to Iran using swap operations.At present, this index hits one million cubic meters per day.

Azerbaijan and Iran are connected by the Gazi Magomed Astara Bind Biand pipeline with a length of 1474.5 kilometres, including 296.5 kilometres over Azerbaijan. This route is a branch of Gazakh-Astara-Iran pipeline commissioned in 1971. Three compressor stations have been constructed along the route in Gazi Magomed, in Agdash and in Gazakh. The pipeline diameter is 1200 millimetres.
