13 November 2012 [15:10] - Today.Az

Held against a backdrop of rising interest in sports development in Azerbaijan and major investment in sports infrastructure, SportExpo 2012, the International Exhibition of Sport, Sports Equipment and Sportswear, will take place on 28 November for the first time in Azerbaijan. The declaration of 2012 as the ‘Year of Sport’ in Azerbaijan, the high achievements of the country’s sportsmen and women at the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the active support in organising the exhibition from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Youth and Sport all underline the relevance of the event.

The exhibition will bring together over 50 state and private representatives of sport and the sports industry such as Azerbaijani sports clubs and federations, domestic and international producers of sporting goods and services, and public organisations. SportExpo offers an opportunity to find out in detail about advanced solutions for fitting out sports facilities through producers and suppliers of sportswear and equipment, fitness and nutrition. Virtually every developed sport in Azerbaijan will be presented - boxing, football, taekwondo, tennis, golf, mountain climbing, trapshooting, swimming, sailing, table tennis, and others.

For companies and commercial organisations looking to develop Azerbaijan’s sports industry, the exhibition offers an exclusive opportunity to become more familiar with the activities of sports clubs and federations with the aim of sponsoring a team, club or federation - an excellent marketing tool for maintaining company image and business development.

The 4th Republican Exhibition of Youth Organisations, will take place alongside SportExpo 2012. Held as part of the Youth of Azerbaijan 2011-2015 state programme, which confirms its importance, and featuring participation from over 100 of the country’s youth organisations, the Exhibition aims to keep society informed of the activity of youth organisations and the projects and events held by them, as well as encouraging young people to take part in community activities. The Fair is organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan together with Iteca Caspian.

In this way, the achievements of sports and youth organisations will be presented at one exhibition at one time - making the event as effective as possible for exhibitors and as convenient as possible for visitors.

The organisers are hoping for the upcoming combined exhibition to create favourable conditions for establishing and expanding new contacts, and that it will make a real contribution to the development of sport and to the work of youth organisations in Azerbaijan.
