The State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan recorded 87 facts of criminal nature in January-April 2012, the SCC said on Monday.
According to the report, 62 facts were related to smuggling, 28 of them - with drug trafficking. During the reporting period 4.31 kilograms of narcotics, 6.16 kilograms - psychotropic substances were seized. Three cases of evasion of customs payment were recorded.
On these facts, 101 people were detained as suspects in January-April.
During the reporting period 5,367 facts of administrative offenses were recorded, 42 of which are associated with smuggling attempts, 132 - non-declaration of transported items, goods or money.
