Azerbaijan will not stop operating aircrafts of ATR brand despite the crash of an aircraft of the same brand in Russia on Monday morning, CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines spokesman Maharram Safarli told Trend on Monday.

He said ATR brand aircrafts, which are included in the company's aircraft fleet, are new and meet all necessary safety precautions.

Today two flights - Baku-Ganja-Baku and Baku-Tbilisi-Baku - will be carried out using ATR aircrafts, Safarli said.

The company has six aircrafts of this brand in its fleet - ATR-42 and ATR-72. The company obtained the aircrafts in 2007-2008. They are mainly used for carrying out domestic flights.
ATR-72 aircraft of UTair Airline carrying out Tyumen-Surgut flight crashed on Monday during takeoff from the Tyumen Airport at 05:50 Moscow time. According to preliminary data, 43 people were on board - 39 passengers and 4 crew members.

According to the recent reports, at least 16 people died and 17 people survived, representative of operational staff on search and rescue operations coordination told RIA Novosti.

According to preliminary data, no Azerbaijani citizens were on board.
