Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who will rule the country by 2018, is suffering from lack of public confidence.

About 45 percent of the Armenian citizens absolutely do not trust Sargsyan, the Caucasus Research Resource Center's recent survey indicated.

The CRRC conducted the survey ordered by the United States Agency for International Development. The survey, held from September 2013 to December 2013, covered 1,448 households and 400 legal entities.

Only six percent of the respondents fully trust the president, while 20 percent trust him "to some extent", the results of the survey said. "That is, only 26 percent of the respondents trust Serzh Sargsyan, while the percentage of people who do not trust him is 58."

The survey also showed the low confidence of the citizens to the state bodies. The Armenian parliament enjoys less trust - 47 percent of the respondents said they do not trust at all to this state body. Only two percent said fully trust the legislative body.

The government is at the second position among the state bodies which does not enjoy the citizens' trust. Some 63 percent of the respondents do not trust the government "to some extent". The citizens also do not trust the Constitutional Court (48 percent), the Tax Service (46 percent), as well as the Customs Service (46 percent).

Also, the newly formed government will face shortage of finance resources, local media reported.

"The shortage will not allow the government to fulfill its promises. There are a lot of problems, which require additional funds," the media reports say.

It seems that Armenia's new government will further increase the citizens' distrust to the authorities.
