Azerbaijani chess player beats Philippine rival in Moscow

Azerbaijan's chess grandmaster Rauf Mammadov has made a successful start to Aeroflot Open annual international tournament in Moscow after defeating Philippine's Darvin Laylon.
Another Azerbaijani player Eltaj Safarli has lost to Evgeny Nayer.

The second round will see Mammadov play Nayer, while Safarli will take on Laylon.

The Swiss system tournament brings together 80 chess players, including 77 grandmasters.
