Azerbaijan chess player becomes the world champion

Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov was named best player of World Team Chess Championship for the number of points he scored in Bursa, Turkey.
Mammadyarov played without a rest during the championship.

He participated in all nine rounds and won 8 points. This is the best result both in the fourth board and among all participants in the world championship.

Another Azerbaijani player Teymour Radjabov took 2nd place on the second board by scoring 5 points out of 7 possible.
