VAR may feature in this season’s Champions League to be held in Baku

UEFA is set to use video assistant referees for the knockout rounds of this season’s Champions League. The move, to be confirmed on December 3, will leave the Premier League as the only leading club competition in Europe not using VARs this season, Report informs citing The Times.

In addition, the VAR system will also be tested at the National League final tournament in June.

UEFA can only use the VAR system in the final of the Europa League, which will be held in Baku Olympic Stadium this season.

Notably, the final of the Europa League will be held on May 29, 2019.
