Artistic Gymnastics events among 14-18-year-old athletes within the framework of the European multi-sport tournament took place in Gyor, Hungary this weekend.

Held every two years, the 14th European Youth Olympic Summer Festival (EYOF) is organized by the European Olympic Committees with the support of the UEG’s Technical Committees. On the programme are the team, all-around and event finals in men’s and women’s artistic gymnastics.

Azerbaijan’s junior Men's and Women's Artistic gymnasts also took part in this festival to test their strength.

Young athletes Javidan Babayev, Aghamurad Gahramanov, Sergiy Onbysh and country’s only female representative Samira Gahramanova, having their first experience at such a large-scale competition, performed with great excitement.

Among the national representatives only Sergiy managed to reach the final. He took the 6th place in the final exercises on vault.

Taking place between July 25 and 29, the event, drawing the best junior gymnasts from all over the continent, stands on equal footing with junior Euros, the only difference in terms of competition, is the number of gymnasts per country allowed.  It is a multi-sport event complete with opening and closing ceremonies, and Olympic village, with athletes competing across ten different sports. A real taster of what these young athletes hope is prelude to the full Olympic experience in years to come.
