Russian gymnast Arina Averina has said she expects to perform well in the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup finals in Baku.
“I did not perform [in a qualification round] exactly as expected. There is a lot to work on,” she told Trend, adding she believes her today’s performance in the hoop event was better than in the ball event.
The gymnast said this is the first time she performs in Baku and the viewers’ support helps and cheers her up.
The first day of the FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup kicked off in Baku Apr. 28. The competitions are being held at the National Gymnastics Arena. Ninety-four gymnasts from 21 countries are participating in the event.
