Azerbaijan’s GM Nijat Abbasov has won the Azerbaijani Chess Championship.
In the final, he beat Orkhan Abdulov, gaining 7.5 points, azerisport.com reported.
The second place went to Misrvatdin Iskandarov (7 points), while Vugar Rasulov ranked the third (6 points).
The tournament brought together 24 chess players, including 17 holders of the FIDE International titles.
Nijat Abbasov became an International Master in 2009 and a grandmaster in 2010.
