Date of the next season of the sensational Baku stage of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe has been announced.

The new Baku edition of the European major car race will be held on June 16-18.

A tentative schedule of the new championship was approved at a meeting of the World Council of the International Federation of Motorsport held in Paris.

According to the calendar, in the next season, fans will see 21 stages of Formula 1, the first of which will take place in Australia on March 26, and the last - at the end of November in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, the European Grand Prix Formula 1 in Baku will be renamed to the Grand Prix of Azerbaijan since 2017.

Baku City Circuit was the second longest F1 track on the 2016 calendar, with a length slightly over six kilometers as an anti-clockwise layout. Many specialists described this track as the most complex, entertaining and very curious, for both racers and spectators.

In 2016, along with Monaco and Singapore, Baku also hosted the race on the street circuit, prepared by famous architect Hermann Tilke.

President of Formula One Management, Bernie Ecclestone admitted that Formula 1 in Baku surpassed all his expectations.

The pilot, who was the best to cope with this challengeable task, became Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg.
