'Azerbaijani flag to be raised in Rio Olympic village on August 3’

"Azerbaijani Olympic team will leave for Rio de Janeiro on August 1," Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov has told a press conference.

"Azerbaijani team will arrive in Brazil in the morning of August 2 at 09:30 after A 14-hour flight. A day after, a welcoming ceremony of the Azerbaijani athletes as well as the tricolor flag raising ceremony will be held in the Olympic village," the Minister said.

"Our team includes a large squad. Azerbaijan will be represented by 56 athletes at the Olympic Games," Rahimov added.
