Holding the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe in Baku will become an event contributing to increase in popularity and prestige of Azerbaijan on international arena, president of the Turkish Strategic Outlook International Research Center, Yusuf Cinar told Trend June 10.
The Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe will be held June 17-19 in Baku.
"Among other things, cooperation with large companies will give Azerbaijan an additional boost in economic terms," Cinar said. "The event will be broadcast by global TV channels, and millions of TV viewers will be able to watch it."
Another Turkish expert, Salih Dogan, a research fellow at the Turkey-based Turgut Ozal University, believes that holding the Formula 1 in Baku will contribute to the development of tourism in Azerbaijan.
"Such events like Eurovision, European Games, and Formula 1 will turn Azerbaijan into the capital of the world," he said.
"The Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe is quite serious, prestigious sports event, which has millions of fans around the world," Dogan said.
