National gymnasts back with big trophy from int'l competitions

Last weekend, the “Souvenir Véronique DE KRISTOFFY” International Tournament was held in French city of Corbeil-Essonnes.

The event was held in Rhythmic Individual discipline among Junior and Senior athletes.

The national gymnasts backed home with big trophy, as Marina Durunda won five silver in all-around, a hoop, a ball, clubs, and a ribbon at the events.

Durunda claimed the sixth silver in a team competition together with her teammates Gulsum Shafizada and Ilaha Mammadova who performed in a junior program.

In individual all-around, Gulsum and Ilaha ranked 11th and 8th accordingly.

Another national gymnast Veronika Hudis took silver in a final exercise with a rope at the “Tart Cup” international tournament among juniors held in Brno, Czechia.

Some 18 athletes from 14 countries took part in the competition, which was the third stage of Grand Prix Series, after Moscow and Thiais.
