Azerbaijan, Baku Championship in Artistic Gymnastics kick off

Azerbaijan and Baku Championship among Age Categories in Artistic Gymnastics kicked off in Baku in the subsidiary hall of the National Gymnastics Arena.

Representatives of "Ojaq Sport" Club, Baku Gymnastics School, Republican Complex Sports School and the city of Sumgayit will compete for the medals in the events to be held among men and women.

Both men (seniors - born in 1998 and older; juniors - 1998-2001; youngsters - 2003-2004; children - 2005-2006; minors - 2006-2007; beginners - 2008-2009) and women (seniors - born in 2002 and older; juniors - 2003-2004; youngsters - 2005-2006; children - 2007-2008; minors - 2008-2009) will define winners in the all-around within five age groups.

In total, 65 athletes (36 men and 29 women) will take part in the event.

The spectators will watch skilful performances of participants of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Oleg Stepko and Petro Pakhnyuk, as well as bronze medalist of the FIG World Challenge Cup in Artistic Gymnastics held in Baku in February Marina Nekrasova, Yuliya Inshina and Mariia Smirnova during the two-day events.
