National gymnasts perform in Italy

Last weekend the World Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics and International Tournament among Juniors came to an end in the Italian city of Pezaro. As always, the Azerbaijani team showed remarkable professionalism and performances, although it did not gain prizes this time.

Azerbaijan was represented by team in group exercises, as well as in the individual program at the World Cup.

Finishing sixth in the all-round category, the group of Siyany Vasileva, Alexandra Platonova, Diana Doman, Aisha Bayramova and Elif Zeynep Dzhelepov got to both finals. In the finals the girls took seventh and eighth places with three pairs of clubs, two hoops and five ribbons respectively.

Marina Durunda performed in the finals of the individual program with clubs and placed sixth place.

At the international tournament among the juniors, Azerbaijan was represented by Zohra Aghamirova, Ilaha Mammadova and Veronika Hudis.

Having stopped a step away from a medal in the final exercises with clubs, Zohra showed the best result among the other national athletes. Veronika Hudis also reached the final with a rope, taking seventh place.
