National bike team continues training in Slovenia

Azerbaijan’s national mountain bike team is training really hard in view of the upcoming Baku 2015, the 1st European Games. The training is taking place in Slovenia, which is the home of Synergy Baku’s newest headquarter. The riders attend international competitions along their training regimen in Europe.

Meanwhile, four members of the national team including Agshin Ismayilov, Agshin Bagirli, Murad Sultanov and Orkhan Mammadov participated at a competition together with some 60 cyclists from Slovenia, Italy and Austria on April 6.

Agshin I. gained the best result among the national cyclists, as he finished the event at the 13th place.

Agshin came 24th among 100 athletes in the mountain bike race held in Austria on 29 March.

Regarding to results of the race in Slovenia, Agshin Baghirli came 19th, Orkhan Mammadov 20th and Murad Sultanov 22nd.

Baku 2015 is the first ever European Games, an exciting and innovative multi-sport event for the continent which will take place from 12 – 28 June 2015.

Three cycling disciplines will be included, road, mountain biking and BMX.

There will be a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015 including 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
