National cyclist brings home two medals

The Panevejis-2015 Track Cycling (1.1 category) wrapped up in Lithuania on March 8.

Azerbaijani cyclists including Olga Ismayilova, Sergey Omelchenko and Nijat Niftaliyev took part in the competition.

On the first day of the competition overcoming 500 meters distance Olga claimed the number one spot.

On the second day of the event, where the participants supposed to overcame distance of 200 meters, the national cyclist slightly gave a way to the Lithuanian rider and became the second.

As for other national sportsmen, after severe injury Sergey Omelchenko became 5th in the keirin cycling and 8th in the sprint of 200 meters distance.

The young member of the national team, Nijat Niftaliyev took 14th place in sprint.
