Azerbaijani junior athletes gain five medals in Russia

The 11th Open International Junior Athletics Tournament devoted to the Olympic champion Yelena Slesarenko was held in Volgograd, Russia on December 7.

Azerbaijani sportsmen gained five medals in the competition.

Elena Pekhtereva won the gold medal in the run of the 60-meters-distance. Other national sportsmen Yadulla Ibrahimov took the first place in the triple jump.

Said Najafzada won the silver medal in the triple jump. Vagif Bagirov ranked the second in the run of the 60-meters-distance, while Rustam Shukurov showed the same result in the long jump.
