Khazar Cup jumping tournament wraps up in Baku

The “Khazar Cup” CSI1*-W International jumping tournament wrapped up in Baku on November 22.

The tournament, organized by Azerbaijan's Equestrian Federation was held at the Border Equestrian Center in Novkhani village of Baku.

Riders from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, Luxembourg, Turkey and Iran attended the competition. About 25 sportsmen and 50 horses competed in the tournament.

The judges from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bulgaria and Iran watched closely the tournament.

The fund prize of the competition was 9,500 manats.

On the first day of the tournament the participants overcame an obstacle with the height of 125 cm.

The rider from Luksemburg, Marsel Even with her mere “Kasandra MNM” became the winner.

Then, the competition of 135 obstacles was held, where Marsel Even with her mere “Kasandra MNM” also took the victory.

On the second day of the competition, the participants at first overcame the obstacles on the height of 130 cm. Azerbaijani rider Elmar Abdullayev with his horse “Vudi” took the first place.

In the competition on 140cm obstacles, Georgian sportsmen Shalva Gachechiladze won the first place.

On the final day of the competition, the riders competed with 145 cm obstacles. The national rider Patrik Mc Entee with his “tall boy” left behind his rivals.
