Date of Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2015 fixed

Azerbaijan will host Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2015 cycling on 2.1 category competition.

The competition will be held from May 6 to 10, according to the International Cycling Association.

The route of the tradition race may also be changed. The reason is that the fourth stage of the competition is expected to be held in Gabala-Agdash-Yevlakh-Mingachevir route.

As the rowing competition of the Baku 2015 European Games will be held in Mingachevir, the Azerbaijani Cycling Federation intends to attract the attention of the world sport community to this region of the country.

The last and fifth stage will be held in the Mountain Bike park designed for European Games cycling competition. This will be a new experience for the Tour d'Azerbaidjan.

On October 18, the first successful test was carried out in this park.

The main distinctive feature of Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2015 in comparison with last year is that the participants will have a chance to win a ticket for both Baku 2015 European Games and XXXI Summer Olympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.

The Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2014 gathered 150 cyclists representing 25 teams from 33 countries this year and was won by Ilnur Zakarin from Russia's RusVelo team. The race was held in Azerbaijani capital and regions on May 7-11.
