Iker Casillas seems unable to put an end to the goalkeeping debate at Real Madrid, at least if we focus on his performance against Manchester United in Michigan on Saturday. The goalkeeper was at fault for the third goal for the Red Devils, which confirmed another defeat in this so far bleak pre-season for Ancelotti's men.
Casillas cannot be blamed solely for the defeat, because it was the team as a whole that offered little, but it is equally true that the Spain international performed erratically once again. Chicharito Hernández was eventually presented with a simple chance thanks to a misjudgement by Casillas which the Mexican headed home to seal a 3-1 victory for Louis van Gaal's side.
Ancelotti had already announced in a press conference on Friday that Casillas would get the nod against United because he will play in the club's first competitive fixture of the campaign: the European Super Cup against Sevilla in Cardiff on 12th August.
With such performances, Casillas is currently a long way from silencing the masses over who should figure between the sticks for the European champions.
