Former Manchester United and Inter defender Mikael Silvestre has heaped praise on Goal 50 winner Cristiano Ronaldo, but says that his Brazilian namesake Ronaldo was the best player he ever played with. The retired Frenchman had the honour of playing with both footballing icons during his career, lining up with the 2002 World Cup hero at Inter and the Portuguese superstar at Manchester United.
"Both of them were great. Both of them very good team-mates and more importantly great human beings," Silvestre told Goal. "But the Brazilian Ronaldo was out of this world. He was phenomenal.
"You can't really compare them as one was more a No.9 and the other was a winger. They play in different styles and positions.
"But Ronaldo was [the best I ever played with] because he was a natural talent. Even when he was injured and overweight, he was still very good."
Cristiano Ronaldo clinched his third Goal 50 this week, claiming the prize ahead of Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben and Barcelona's Lionel Messi.
