FIFA investigates a fight during Brazil vs. Chile game

01 July 2014 [11:30] - TODAY.AZ
FIFA have announced they have opened an investigation into the scuffle that took place between Brazil and Chile's coaching staff at half time during their World Cup last sixteen game.

FIFA sources told a press conference that the world governing body's disciplinary panel has opened an investigation into the incident and are analysing video footage of what happened at Belo Horizonte's Mineirao stadium.

Sources within the Chilean delegation have confirmed that Brazil's communications director, Rodrigo Paiva punched Chile striker, Mauricio Pinilla.

In a statement to local media, Paiva denied having struck the player and said that members of both teams' coaching staff tussled with each other in the dressing room tunnel.
