It looks like it is a done deal. Diego Costa told goal.com that his future lies in London. "I've always wanted to play in the Premier League. Chelsea are one of the greatest clubs in the world. If things keep moving forward, I will be playing for them next season."
The player, who is still under contract with Atlético, is currently representing Spain in the World Cup. He talked openly about his decision to leave the Madrid-based outfit: "Why have I chosen to play for Chelsea? It is something that is about to happen. Things are moving in a certain direction, and if they keep moving forward, I will be playing for them next season."
Costa knows that it will not be easy to adapt to the English game. "I will have to work really hard to fit in with the style of the Premier League."
He also talked about the World Cup and the controversial decision which he made to play for Spain. "I had the right to choose, so the public also have the right to boo me."
However, Costa is not overly concerned about the hostile atmosphere towards him. "It happens to me in every stadium in Spain, so I'm pretty used to it."
