Yaya Touré wants to return to Barcelona, according to reports in The Sun and other British papers. The Ivorian player, who was an 'Azulgrana' for three seasons, wants to leave Manchester City, according to his agent, because he is not respected enough there for reasons such as being ignored on his birthday, amongst others.
The Camp Nou is one of his probable destinations, but he's not ruling out a move to another Premier League outfit either.
"He's very upset and he started thinking of leaving the club. And he will leave if things carry on like this. When your best worker has his birthday from time to time it's not bad to shake his hand. To make him feel valued and appreciated. What happened at his birthday meant the club don't care about him. It was proof" said Dimitry Seluk, his agent.
Barcelona paid €9 million for him in the summer of 2007. The 31-year-old Ivorian midfielder currently receives €12 million a year, a figure that would need to be reduced if he returned to the Camp Nou. His market value is thought to be somewhere in the region of €40 million.
