Third stage of Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2014 cycle race finished - UPDATE

The third stage of Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2014 cycle race completed on May 9, Trend's special correspondent reported.

The winner of the race was Algerian Yusif Regigi. Slovenian Matej Murieli was the second. Danish athlete Kristian Haugaard Jensen crossed the finish line third.

In total, athletes passed 180 kilometers on Gabala- Oguz-Sheki-Oguz-Gabala route

The award ceremony took place after determining the winners. The awards were presented by the Vice-President of the Cycling Federation of Azerbaijan, Sahib Alakbarov.

Then followed press conference. Race winner Yusif Regigi and ninefold "Tour de France" champion Jamaladdin Abduljafarov answered the questions of journalists.

The first 154 kilometer stage covered the Baku - Sumgayit route.

The second 187 kilometer stage covered the Baku - Ismayilli route.

The fourth 115 kilometer stage will cover the Gabala - Pirqulu route.

The fifth stage will cover the Baku - Absheron / Nardaran - Baku (the final six rounds of 13.6 km each).

The third stage of Tour d'Azerbaidjan-2014 cycle race started on May 9, Trend's special correspondent reported.

The third 180 kilometer stage started at 10:20 in front of the Gabala Executive Power building.

The sportsmen will cross the finish line here.

The first 154 kilometer stage covered the Baku - Sumgayit route.

The second 187 kilometer stage covered the Baku - Ismayilli route.

The fourth 115 kilometer stage covered the Gabala - Pirqulu route.

The fifth stage will cover the Baku - Absheron / Nardaran - Baku (the final six rounds of 13.6 km each).
