Barça and Messi have taken another step to improving the Argentine's current deal after the striker's father Jorge Messi met once again with club board members Javier Faus y Antoni Rossich. Leo appears to have suggested signing Kun Agüero and offering Pinto a new deal.
According to Catalan television channel 'TV3', sources at Barça described the player's father's meeting with the club's first vice-president and its general manager as very positive. Although the bulk of the meeting was focused on the financial aspects of the new contract, other footballing matters were addressed.
Messi appears very interested in footballing matters and suggested that the club sign Kun Agüero and offer Pinto a renewal. This was obviously a suggestion and in no way an insistence, according to TV3.
Barcelona hopes to announce a new deal with the Argentine star over the next few days. The differences between the two parties had hinged on the distribution of his salary and add-ons. The new contract is expected to be worth €20m per season -after tax - plus a further €3m if certain objectives are met.
