Ibra eyes PSG retirement

03 May 2014 [08:45] - TODAY.AZ
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced that he wants to end his career at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 32-year-old, who joined the Ligue 1 outfit from AC Milan in the summer of 2012, has two years to run on his current contract with the capital club and rejected speculation of a move away from the Parc des Princes.

Speaking to PSG’s official magazine, Ibrahimovic said: “Sometimes we read in the newspapers, or elsewhere you hear rumours about a possible departure.

“So I say plainly: I am happy, very happy in Paris and I have absolutely no intention to end my playing career anywhere other than in Paris.”

Eight points clear in Ligue 1, PSG had the chance to win a second successive French title on Sunday but could only draw against Sochaux.

Ibrahimovic, who has been out of action since injuring his hamstring in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie with Chelsea, is consequently hoping to help Laurent Blanc's men finish the job on May 7 against Rennes.

He added: “We will have another chance to win the title in the next game. I hope to be able to play. If this is the case, I can assure you that we will win this title and that we will celebrate.”

Ibrahimovic is Ligue 1’s top scorer with 25 goals to his name.
