Azerbaijani grandmaster Teymur Rajabov defeats World Champion Magnus Carlsen

Azerbaijani grandmaster Teymur Rajabov has today defeated Norwegian World Champion Magnus Carlsen in the 5th round of the Group A in the Shamkir Chess-2014 tournament in the Azerbaijani city of Shamkir.

American Hikaru Nakamura has been held to a draw by Russian Sergey Karjakin.

Organized by “Synergy Group”, the tournament commemorates the late Azerbaijani grandmaster Vugar Hashimov.
