Some 296 boxers to hunt medals at European Games in Baku

A total of 296 boxers, including 216 men and 80 women, will contest medals in the inaugural European Games to be held in Baku in June 2015.

Some 196 boxers will be qualifiers, while 70 will book a spot in the games according to the European rankings. Azerbaijan is given a right to field 10 boxers as the host nation. Fifteen more boxers will have an opportunity to vie for Olympic medals through special preferential cards.

The Baku 2015 European Games will involve around 6,000 competitors from the 49 Olympic nations of Europe across 19 sports.
