Azerbaijani chess players to vie for Dubai Open medals

Azerbaijani players will compete in the 16th Dubai Open Chess Championship which kicks off today in the United Arab Emirates.

The tournament brings together 150 chess players, including 49 grandmasters.

Azerbaijan`s hopes will be pinned on Orkhan Abdulov and Hasan Guliyev in the men`s event, and
FIDE Master Narmin Khalafova in the women`s.

The Swiss system tournament will feature nine rounds.
