AFFA and FIFA chiefs met in Saint Petersburg

President of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) Rovnag Abdullayev has met FIFA President Joseph Blatter in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev informed Joseph Blatter on the measures taken in Azerbaijan for the development of football.

They also watched a video on the construction of a 65,000-seat Olympic stadium in Baku, and discussed a wide range of issues.

The FIFA President praised the works done in the country, and congratulated Rovnag Abdullayev on the receiving “Women and Sports” Diploma from the International Olympic Committee for the works done to improve the women sports in Azerbaijan.

Blatter expressed confidence that projects implemented in the country would positively impact on the development of football.

FIFA's European development manager Eva Pasquier and AFFA Secretary General Elkhan Mammadov were present at the meeting.
