Borussia Dortmund is looking to sign Karim Benzema this summer to cover the position that Robert Lewandowski will leave on his move to Bayern Munich, according 'Bild'.
The German newspaper talks of "a secret transfer plan" in which Benzema would move to Dortmund in exchange for Gündogan, who would reinforce Real's midfield. The German's contract with Dortmund runs out in 2015 and the player has, according to 'Bild' received an offer from 'Los Blancos'.
The newspaper also assures that the man behind the deal is Florentino Pérez, who it is said last season to have proposed a similar exchange: Benzema for Lewandowski. In the end, it was Bayern who snapped the Polish player up for five years.
The agreement between the two clubs would also mean the continued presence of the Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin at Dortmund, who is presently on loan from the Spanish club until this summer.
