Azerbaijani gymnasts won three medals at the 20th International Mikhail Voronin Cup on December 2-4.
The competition was held at Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex in Moscow.
Represented by Anna Pavlova and Marina Nekrasova, Azerbaijan's team took home three medals.
According to the results of the exercises in the individual all-around, Pavlova took second place, gaining 53.6 points, and Nekrasova became the third, gaining 51 points.
The first place in the individual all-around went to Ukrainian athlete Elena Vasilyeva who gained 53.9 points.
In the team playing, Azerbaijan won the silver medal, losing the first place to the Russian team. Olympic champion Aliya Mustafina gave awards to Azerbaijan's winners.
This was Azerbaijan's debut performance on this tournament and the athletes achieved a good result.
The 20th Jubilee International Tournament on Gymnastics for the Cup of double Olympic champion Mikhail Voronin brought together 120 athletes (72 male and 48 female), representing 19 countries. The tournament is very popular among Russian and foreign athletes, sports communities, and spectators.
Earlier, Marina Durunda, another Azerbaijani athlete, became Italy's champion, winning the traditional Italian championship in the A1 series on rhythmic gymnastics.
