Real's 'Ancelotti days' to start on July 12

08 July 2013 [13:00] - TODAY.AZ
Carlo Ancelotti is finishing up his summer holidays. The new Real Madrid coach plans to land in the Spanish capital next Friday 12th July to start his new job.

The Italian was presented on 26th June and before taking a few days off, he requested a detailed report into how the squad has trained during the past few seasons. Ancelotti, who followed Mourinho's team very closely last season, plans to make some changes to the team's training methods.

Alongside him will be Zidane, Paul Clement and Giovanni Mauri, a physical trainer who has been with 'Carletto' since they started at Parma back in 1996.

Giovanni Mauri has scheduled a very demanding pre-season, with a work load that should see the team start the league campaign with its batteries fully charged. This season kicks off on 17th August and it is the coaching staff's goal that the players be match-fit and fully prepared.

Real starts its pre-season on 15th July, but Ancelotti will not have all of his players at his disposal. Spanish internationals (Casillas, Arbeloa, Albiol and Sergio Ramos) who took part in the Confederations Cup will join the squad on 22nd July. That is a day after the club's first pre-season match, which Real Madrid is playing on the south coast of England against newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth.

There are two other matches before the trip to the United States: against Lyon (24th July) and PSG in Gothenburg (27th July).
