This morning, Azerbaijani sportsmen - participants of XXX Summer Olympic Games in London have returned to their homeland.
Members of the public and the sports federations met the sportsmen at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The athletes will travel from the airport to the city, where they will visit a monument to national leader, placed in front of the Palace, named after him.
Azerbaijan's Olympic team was represented by 53 athletes in 16 sports at the London Olympics.
Our athletes won 10 medals including 2 gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze.
Togrul Askerov and Sharif Sharifov became the Olympic champions among free-style wrestlers; bronze medal was won by Khetag Gazyumov.
Rovshan Bayramov won silver medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, Emin Mammadov - bronze.
Our female wrestlers also returned home with medals. Mariya Stadnik won silver medal, Julia Ratkevich - bronze.
Boxers Teymur Mammadov and Magomedrasul Majidov won bronze medals at the Olympics.
Weightlifter Valentin Hristov also won bronze medal.
