Iceland vs Azerbaijan

06 June 2012 [15:41] - TODAY.AZ
The visitors scored twice in the last 13 minutes, including Cavid Imamverdiyev's late winner, to complete a stirring Group 8 comeback in Reykjavik between Azerbaijan and Iceland as part of the European U-21 qualifier.

Cavid Imamverdiyev struck a 91st-minute winner as Azerbaijan came from behind to seal a victory that moves them clear of bottom placed Iceland in Group 8.

Imamverdiyev capitalised on a moment of hesitancy by Hordur Björgvin Magnússon, dispossessing the centre-back and firing in. It completed a stirring comeback by the visitors in Reykjavik, who fell behind midway through the first half when the lively Björn Sigurdarsson headed in. Mirhüseyin Seyidov had a penalty saved by Árni Ólafsson soon after, but Azerbaijan restored parity 13 minutes from time through Araz Abdullayev's long-range effort. The stage was set for Imamverdiyev.
