Azeri judoist is 3rd in Int'l Judo Federation ranking

International Judo Federation (IJF) has announced the new ranking table according to the results of the Grand Slam tournament. Azerbaijani wrestler, Bronze medalist of the tournament Ilgar Mushkiyev (60kg) made a progress in 3 stages as in the previous ranking.

Mushkiyev has taken 3rd place on the eve of the Summer Olympic Games. Mushkiyev also has reached Azerbaijani Olympic champion Elnur Mammadli (81kg) in ranking. Elnur Mammadli has competed in Grand Slam Tournament in 90 kg weight category and won 5th place of the tournament.

That’s why there was no change in his position of the ranking table. Other Azerbaijani athletes Elmar Gasimov (100kg) and Kifayet Gasimova (57kg) also improved their positions.

Gasimov took the 5th place in the tournament and moved 3 steps (27th place). Elkhan Mammadov (90kg, 10th place) and Ramile Yusubova (63kg, 15th place) also have retained their positions.

The athletes who will settle down in first 22 rating table of men and first 16 of women will participate in London-2012 Summer Olympic Games according to regulations.
