Azerbaijani team wins int’l battle tournament

The 9th universal battle dedicated to the 89th birth anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held in Gusar Olympic sports complex. 200 athletes from13 countries (Russia, Turkey, Iran, Georgia, Tajikistan and etc.) participated in the struggle for supremacy in the tournament.
Azerbaijani was represented with three staffs.

Mansur Huseynov (60kg), Fagan Mammadov (65kg), Khayyam Safikhanov (70 kg), Farid Mirzebeyov (75 kg), Kamran Hasanaliyev (80 kg), Muradhag Farzaliyev (85 kg), Eynulla Guneshli (90 kg), Ruslan Hasanov (95 kg), Amid Agayav (over 95 kg), Afag Cavadova (48 kg) and Aynur Rzayeva (78 kg) rose to the highest stage of pedestal.

Azerbaijani sportsmen have gained 9 gold, 7 silver, 17 bronze medals. Azerbaijan’s women team won 2 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze medals. Azerbaijani team took the first, Russian – the second and Georgia – the third places.
