Azerbaijani taekwondo fighter wins silver

The first day of the European taekwondo championship involving Azerbaijani taekwondo fighters was held in Manchester, England.

Of our four sportsmen showing on the first day, the most successful was Mikhail Aliyev (54 kg). He bear Surashet Singsorn of Denmark 13:2, Ilya Kokshinysev of Belarus (5:0), British Amin Badra (15:9) and reached the final. In the decisive fight he was to face Russian Seyfulla Magomedov. In this fight Magomedov turned stronger winning 13:1.

Thus, Mikail Aliyev who debited in the European championship among seniors has won silver.
Unfortunately, Aydin Bakhmalov (87 kg) lost to Bahri Tanrikulu (2:14) and fell off the distance. Khayala Guliyeva (46 kg) beat Liliana Dondur of Serbia (10:3) but then lost to Greek Johanna Kotsu (2:3), Sabina Mikailova (62 kg) beat Durdana Altunel (9:7) but then turned out weaker than Russian Marina Cheshuina (4:6).
