
The State Emergency Commission chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov held a meeting addressing the landslide problem in Bayil hillside of Baku.
Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Orujali Hajiyev, Head of the Republican Seismological Service of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Gurban Yetirmishli, officials of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Baku Mayor’s Office and other relevant organizations attended the meeting. Representatives of foreign and local companies operated in the landslide area also joined the meeting.
Yetirmishli said that the situation in the landslide area is stable now. “No movement or extension has been observed so far”.
The emergency experts and forces of the Ministry of Emergency situations are conducting reinforcement measures in the area to prevent landslide threat in the future.
