Number of Turkish-Azerbaijani marriages on the rise

14 February 2011 [18:35] - TODAY.AZ
In recent years, number of marriages between residents of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) and Turkish province of Igdir, bordering on it, has increased, the Sabah newspaper wrote on Sunday.

In the past 10 years 753 marriages have been contracted between residents of Igdir and NAR and Azerbaijani other regions. Most of them are marriages between Turkish men and Azerbaijani women.

According to the newspaper, a favorable factor for such marriages is the similarity of cultures and ways of life of the residents of border regions between the two countries.
