Girl raped at a cemetery in Baku

On February 11, officers of Yasamal District police office of Baku detained a man suspected of raping a girl right in the cemetery, a source in law enforcement agencies said.

The case has been forwarded to the district’s prosecutor’s office for investigation. The 21-year-old victim of the rape pleaded with the police about the incident herself claiming the incident occurred in Yasamal cemetery on February 10.

The victim said she was raped by a stranger. As to the detainee, his name is not disclosed for investigation purposes. He is said to be 28-year-old Baku resident. The investigators are probing the detainee involvement with the rape case.
