The Azerbaijani Presidential State NGO Support Fund held a regular meeting last week.

The meeting discussed the selection of projects that have been submitted for financial assistance in 2011, and the council's activities in 2010.
Chairman Azay Guliyev said a number of NGOs have yet to submit a report on their projects and serious actions will be taken against these organizations.
Executive Director of the Fund Secretariat Farasat Gurbanov said the structure has received 428 design packages in the framework of the competition. Four were not admitted for review as they were submitted after the deadline. Deficiencies were found in 72 project proposals.
However, the fund also noted that NGOs that did not submit their annual financial report to the Finance Ministry by April 1, 2010 may be excluded. The meeting also proposed taking more serious measures against "irresponsible" NGOs that do not submit a timely financial reports.
