Azerbaijan reveals low-quality polyethylene bags

The State Service for Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection of the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry during monitoring in a market, located in Qashqai 152 st., in Baku's Nasimi district has revealed the absence of certificates of compliance and health and other relevant documents for 48.4 kilograms of packets of polyethylene bags under the brand names "Foto", Qırmızı palas", "Amerika" and "Bantik", the ministry said.

It was reported that these facts have already taken place in other shopping centers in Baku. The State Service ordered to destroy packets of polyethylene bags of unknown origin, seizing them from the market. About 368.3 tons of non-food items were seized from the markets in January-September 2010, of which 87.9 tons were destroyed, 220.6 tons were returned to the market after remarking.
