The International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Deputy Director General is in Azerbaijan to inspect preparatory work for creation of a dosimetry laboratory in the country. Ana Maria Cetto discussed the issue with Ramiz Hasanov, chairman of the Azerbaijan State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.
Hasanov said the laboratory to be created this year would be “a vivid evidence of high-level cooperation” between Azerbaijan and IAEA. The laboratory will be located in Sumgayit, Azerbaijan`s largest industrial city.
Cetto said the IAEA would provide every assistance to Azerbaijan in setting up the laboratory.
The laboratory will employ local workforce who will receive trainings from IAEA experts this September.
