
The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan Hidayat Orujov was awarded the Order of the Glory and Honor of the Russian Orthodox Church for the continued support to the Baku and Caspian diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, the State Committee reported.
The Order of Glory and Honour of the third degree was also awarded to the Vice President of the Russian Academy of Arts Tahir Salahov and chairman of the Mejlis of Nobles of the Azerbaijan Republic, MP, writer Maksud Ibrahimbeyov for their services in strengthening inter-religious peace.
Awards were presented on April 25 by Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill during his visit to Azerbaijan.
During the presentation, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia said that the activities of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan, as well as prominent figures of Azerbaijan in maintaining close ties between our countries must be noted. Hidayat Orujov, Tahir Salahov and Maksud Ibrahimbeyov were awarded for the good deeds," said Kirill.
Hidayat Orujov in his speech expressed his gratitude to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and expressed confidence that the friendly relationship between the State Committee and the diocese will continue successfully in the future.
