Azerbaijan develops network of intellectual e–libraries

A seminar on “E-Libraries: Existing Situation & Prospects of Development” has been held in the Institute of Information Technologies of Azerbaijan.

The Institute reports that the country’s library and information network includes more than 12,000 libraries of different types at the moment.

“The seminar covered activities of e-libraries, prospects of development, ways of tackling of problems available in the area,” it was reported.

At the event it was stressed that one of the important matters is creation of e-catalogs. The seminar presented analysis of work of commercial e-libraries in Europe, United States, Russia, and Azerbaijan.

Presently, the Institute is working to develop network of intellectual e-libraries.
